York Women’s Counselling was established in 2000 with the mission of ensuring that talking therapies and support were available to women in the city no matter what their income. Our work is ever more prescient in these times when mental health is under assault for so many reasons, and with women disproportionately affected.

We’re reaching out to women across York, who’d like to get involved with a great team to help us meet the challenges that increasing numbers of women face in their lives.

If you have an interest in mental health, counselling and, naturally, the women’s agenda in particular, and of course, some key skills that we’re looking for, we’d love to invite your application to join our Board of Trustees.

Over the past two years YWCS has undergone a transformation of our processes and expansion of our services. With the retirement of a long-standing board member, we’re seeking to increase our Board and augment our strengths in the particular areas of Operations including facilities management and development, HR and people development, including training and Data and Data analysis.

We are looking for someone with the skills, experience, energy and time to commit to our important work. Through a combination of strategic insight and support for our staff team, you can help us further build our services and good governance so that more women can receive the support that they need and deserve.
